Energetska vrijednost sjemenki ne zaostaje za onom ora\u0161astih plodova, a znatan broj kalorija duguju visokom procentu masno\u0107a. Naime, vi\u0161e od polovine sadr\u017eaja \u010dine masno\u0107e, ali rije\u010d je o visokovrijednim uljima, koja tek u malom dijelu cine zasi\u0107ene, a ve\u0107inom je ipak rije\u010d o nezasi\u0107enim masnim kiselinama. Sjemenke se isti\u010du visokim sadr\u017eajem esencijalnih masnih kiselina, neophodnih za pravilno funkcionisanje brojnih va\u017enih funkcija u organizmu. Ljudsko tijelo nije sposobno da ih sinteti\u0161e, zbog \u010dega je neophodan njihov unos kroz ishranu.<\/h3>\n<p>Zna\u010dajan procent \u010dine proteini, zauzimaju\u0107i 20 -25 posto sadr\u017eaja.
