Ovoj bolesti skloniji su ljudi koji imaju ni\u017ei nivo vitamina D. Vitamin D \u0161titi od arterijske bolesti koju uzrokuju masne naslage \u0161to slabe perifernu cirkulaciju, objavili su stru\u010dnjaci u novoj studiji. Stru\u010dnjaci s Medicinskog fakulteta \u201eAlbert Ajn\u0161tajn\u201d na Univerzitetu \u201eJe\u0161ina\u201d u Njujorku zaklju\u010dili su da su ljudi s ni\u017eim procentom vitamina D u krvi skloniji bolesti perifernih arterija ili PAD-u. Vitamin D u tijelu mo\u017ee da se sinteti\u0161e u ko\u017ei pod utjecajem ultraljubi\u010dastih zraka iz provitamina, ali se mo\u017ee unositi i hranom. Najvi\u0161e ga ima u ribljem ulju i mesu, mlijeku i mlije\u010dnim proizvodima i \u017eumancetu.<\/h3>\n<p>Dnevni zahtjevi za vitaminom D relativno su mali i odrasli ga nadokna\u0111uju izlaganjem suncu ili hranom. PAD naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e uzrokuje slabiju cirkulaciju u nogama, koja pak uzrokuje bol i utrnulost i ote\u017eava hodanje, a u nekim slu\u010dajevima mo\u017ee zavr\u0161iti i amputacijom. Bolest nastaje kada se masne naslage nakupe na unutra\u0161njim zidovima arterija, prekidaju\u0107i dotok krvi i kisika u noge, prste, ruke i druge dijelove tijela.<\/p>\n<p>Istra\u017eiva\u010di svoje zaklju\u010dke temelje na istra\u017eivanju koje je sprovela ameri\u010dka vlada, a obuhvatilo je 4.839 odraslih ispitanika kojima se mjerio procenat vitamina D u krvi i snimala se proto\u010dnost arterija u nogama. Grupa s najni\u017eim procentom vitamina D bila je 80 odsto sklonija obolijevanju od PAD-a od grupe s najvi\u0161im nivoom tog vitamina, ocijenili su. Ipak Majkl Melamed, koji je vodio istra\u017eivanje, upozorava da je jo\u0161 prerano za uzimanje suplemenata vitamina D, jer treba sprovesti dodatna istra\u017eivanja koja \u0107e dokazati da on ima za\u0161titno djelovanje. Vitamin D olak\u0161ava apsorpciju kalcija u tijelu i smatra se va\u017enim za zdrave kosti.
